The Healing that Comes Through Obedience
Exercising our obedience to GOD is believed to be a path to healing the physically, psychologically and spiritually BROKEN. Moreover, it is a very certain road to getting our souls renewed.
This concept suggests that aligning one's life with GOD's will, as revealed through Scripture or divine guidance, can lead to restoration and wholeness. This healing is not always immediate or guaranteed, but rather a process that unfolds as that individual embraces faith and compliance (submission, obedience, respect) and all our agreeance with the Commands of the Holy One.
Obedience is often seen the way to address spiritual wounds, such as sin and separation from GOD. Through faith and submission, devotees can and will experience forgiveness, reconciliation, and a renewed relationship with the Lord of Salvation.
While not always explicitly stated, many believe that obedience can create an environment conducive to physical healing. This can involve trusting GOD's guidance, even when it seems illogical, and experiencing His power to restore health.
NOTE: The story of Naaman in the Bible, who was healed of leprosy after obeying Elisha's instructions, is often cited as but one example.
NOTE: Nowhere in the Scriptures does GOD indicate that everyone is, will be or has been healed.
While there are numerous accounts of miraculous healings, particularly in the books pointing to the life of Yeshua. The Bible also shows instances where people were not healed, even when they sought healing. Some individuals were not healed due to their lack of faith or because GOD had OTHER purposes.
In the Word of GOD, healing is often portrayed as a demonstration of GOD's power.
In todays and yester-year’s societies, some people perceive being healed as a sign of something unexplainable. People experiencing emotional, mental or physical healing is not always presented as a universal guarantee for all believers. We are to still seek Him for His goodness, that is at work in His will.
Who He is and the character He gives comes with the effort of trusting His Son.
We are to always pursue to experience more of Them, as we obey His Word in faith.
Faith (trust) is a crucial element in this process of being healed in our obedience. It's not enough to simply obey; one must also believe that GOD is capable of healing and that His will is ultimately for the best outcome. What does that look like. He knows. Is that a copout? No. It is a statement of faith that should SCREAM, “The One Who created you and I certainly know what is best for we, the created.”
Many religious traditions emphasize the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Obedience to GOD can lead to healing on all these levels, as one's life is brought into alignment with His purpose.
The Bible contains numerous stories of healing that are connected to faith and obedience.
Yeshua (Jesus) often healed individuals who demonstrated faith in Him. The Parable of the Ten Lepers (Luke 17:11-19) highlights the importance of both faith and obedience in the process of healing.
Why does everyone not experience healing in the way they desire? The Father knows.
Don't forget, He only "gives good gifts to us, because He is a Good Father." He is incapable of doing anything less than that. If you believe and trust that, your life will blossom in ways you cannot see, but others can.
Scouring through Matthew 7:9-11 and Luke 11:11-13, Jesus teaches that "just as an earthly father would not give his child a stone when asked for bread, or a snake when asked for a fish, so the Heavenly Father will not give bad things when good things are requested."
What may be considered as something He may not give us would likely be something that is NOT in His will for us.
We should be careful of what we ask for. If we keep at it, we may get it and regret that requested gift.
Healing of the soul involves emotional, spiritual, and psychological restoration, often supported by faith, scripture, and intentional practices. Biblically, the “healing of the soul” is always the ultimate goal. The untold change and transformation that occurs when we are surrendered to the El Elyon (Most High GOD), will only be tallied when we walk in obedient trust.
In eternity with Christ, the new “glorified” body awaits. Why would that matter, if you and I will not be with Him to receive that promise?
If you are not one who knows that part of the created body you function in, it would be the soul.
The soul is often described as the psychological part of a person, encompassing the mind, will, and emotions. It reflects our inner being and is essential for expressing our true selves. However, due to life's challenges and spiritual struggles, the soul can become "sick," leading to emotional pain and turmoil. This is where the salvation of Jesus comes in. He wants to restore you and I (and all of humanity) to Himself, thus reuniting GOD’s creation with their Creator.
Due to man’s fall (Adam with Eve), both parts–spirit and soul–were severely damaged, losing their GOD-created function. Our spirit became deadened, unable and usually unwilling to contact and receive GOD and our soul was ruined, unable to reflect and express GOD and His will for us, and Ways in us. That fall introduced the sin nature that left us this inherited defect of soul. This sin defect left us with a soul sickness that needs GOD’s Healing (His Son) through our cooperation (obedient submission and agreeance).
HELP #1 - Psalm 139:14 says, “Your works are wonderful, and my soul knows it well.” Also, in Lamentations 3:20 it says, “My soul remembers them well…”
NOTE: This indicates our mind is part of our soul because knowing and remembering are both functions of the mind. GOD gave us a mind to know Him, consider His works, and to understand and remember His Word.
HELP #2 - Job 7:15 says “So that my soul would choose…” and Job 6:7 “My soul refuses…” Since choosing and refusing are functions of our will, it’s clear that our will is also a part of our soul. GOD gave us a free will so that we could choose Him and the divine will and refuse Satan and the satanic will. This is why the Bible can end by saying in Revelation 22:17, “Let him who wills take the water of life freely.”
NOTE: Your will is the part of your soul that makes decisions, chooses, refuses, and seeks.
HELP #3 - In 1 Samuel 30:6 it says that “the soul of all the people was bitter…” and in Song of Songs 1:7 it says, “you whom my soul loves.”
NOTE: Your emotion is the part of your soul that expresses love, hatred, joy, grief, and desire. Since bitterness and love are both emotions, this proves that emotions are part of the soul. GOD gave us emotions so that we can love Him and rejoice in Him and hate sin, Satan and all that issues from the satanic source.
Now that you’ve seen the parts of your soul from the Bible you might be asking, “How can my soul be healed of its sickness and restored to its GOD-created function of reflecting and expressing the Lord?”
We need to stop ourselves, reject our natural reactions with our natural thoughts, choices and feelings and turn deeply to the Lord by calling on His name.
