Invest in Yourself, as We Invest in You (we need more investment return)

Investing in people is often a point of securing one’s own success. Devoting time and effort to people signifies a deliberate approach to valuing and developing your life and theirs. All people are key to your spiritual well-being and soul’s health. …and health in all forms is an ASSET!

Investing in your environment yields a multitude of benefits for everyone connected to you and those same individuals.

Improved value is major! People who feel treasured, supported, seen and provided with opportunities for inclusion and love are more likely to be motivated, satisfied, and engaged in their own lives.

What do YOU think?  Would you say there is untold and unknown worth in this statement, when it concerns YOU personally?

A strong focus on employee and personal development, growth opportunities, and a positive environment anywhere significantly lowers the frequency of someone feeling alone, overlooked, abused and discarded.

People who are well loved and cared for often will return that same type or, level of care to another. Many a person became a nurse because of the care they received from their stay in the hospital, or, after they experienced how their loved one was treated, while sickly.

The best training one can obtain to help another is usually by just being visible, available and jumping in.

Caring people are trained while getting their hands dirty. Schooling is good, but it must be placed in them by some sort of experiential representation.

In our Bridges environment, we listen and try to help by sharing with the individual what the Scriptures say about their situation. Usually, someone in the group will have had some affiliation and/or history with that subject matter. That opens a whole lot of conversation, that eventually tells the person that someone understands and is willing to listen. That is both the hurting investing in themselves and the listener and sharer returning the investment, which earns the dividends.

All investors’ development become more effective and a greater level of growth, maturity and healing take place. Emotional and spiritual transactions are always moving back and forth, when the work is being put in.

Over time, all of us are better equipped to adapt to what life offers. When we start to struggle, we are open to return to the Bridges safety place to start anew.

Fostering Healthy Communities is sort of a novelty. We work to be in the world of the brokenhearted and fragmented. Not as a therapist would function, but as the LORD would have us to. We are rather involved and get out of the way and request that He would lead, as the individual would take the central focus and do the work that opens up their understanding of their own struggle. Usually, he or she will see where they lack or, are missing. Sometimes specialty tools are not on their toolbelt. People learn to work on their own brokenness and find the answer to correct their own mistakes and emptiness, sadness and loneliness.  Again, I say… It is work.

It will not work, unless that person is willing and able to see that they are lacking some tools in their life’s toolbox. We help them locate that particular tool, or, tools and show them how to use them/it.  The catch is, that person must be a willing participant. When they are, suddenly, we are back at the investment stage/step once more.

If we are being open and candid with ourselves and the people or person who is walking with us through the mire, mud, mine field or cesspool, we can openly say, “I don’t know how”, or, “I see where I am selfish and don’t want to do it”, or, I am afraid of what I might find or learn about myself”.

That would be a problem.

·         It would be like us telling Jesus, I know I am a liar, but I don’t want to stop.

·         Another would be, “having a flat tire and a spare, jack and tire removal tool are in the trunk, but you are sitting in the car.

·         You may even have AAA and have not called them yet. You are still sitting in the car.

There has been little to no action taken to fix the problem. What now?

Investing in ourselves is a continuous learning process. It is without a doubt a choice.

Personal development encourages a culture (yours) of revolution, because it empowers the self-will (soul) to think differently. You may have to be creative with it. That human feedback is necessary. Therapy is useful, but when that becomes the only thing you seek, that could lead to a level of dependency that would be tough to unweave. There are some folks that need added attention and care. I know of quite a few. They have been through some very traumatic situations, over a very extensive period. Certainly, seek that special attention, but leaving GOD out of the restoration process is not a winning solution.

Bridges and therapy together may even equip you, your organization or family to adapt to evolving ways to correct the issue. The best therapist has always been GOD’s Spirit of Truth and revelation, when we trust Him with it all—FIRST.  A GOD-centered therapist could help balance your efforts with clinical and Biblical approaches.

Invest in yourself through learning via multiple ways that lead to growth and achieve fulfillment.

Investing in yourself by acquiring the knowledge and skills you need is a crucial step towards personal, spiritual, mental and emotional growth. This venture can manifest in various ways, ranging from formal education to self-directed learning and skill development. There are not many things better than having “many counselor” the Bible says. Just be aware of their “position” and “beliefs” that they hold to.  Make certain that you have some very close and trustworthy friends in that mix.

"Investing in your own healing" is a powerful concept that emphasizes the importance of proactively nurturing your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health to cultivate a more fulfilling and resilient life. It means making a conscious commitment to prioritize your well-being, not just when facing illness or distress, but as an ongoing practice of self-care and growth.

Investing in your own restoration means dedicating time and energy to activities that rejuvenate your mind (soul), spirit, and body. It's about recognizing that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity for living a fulfilling and productive life.

Investing in your own restoration and healing is a long-term process. “As you invest into yourself, we will invest into you”, is what I always tell people about the Fostering Healthy Communities environment. We only exist to help people heal, get better and healthier.
