What do YOU Think CAN Happen When People Biblically Care About One Another?
When people care for one another according to Biblical principles, it can and often does trigger a reflective transformation that alters individual lives, reshapes communities, and acts as a powerful witness to the outside world. Have you ever seen or heard the news when something catastrophic happens and in turn what people do to/for those who are genuinely in need?
Biblical treatment is not just extending measures that cause an emotional feeling; it is an active, sacrificial commitment rooted in the character of the Christ.
When a public commits to "one-another", several distinct, powerful alterations occur.
What do you suppose an unshakable community of unity would look like? I’ve seen and heard of what some impact choices have done to change a life, or 100. When true kindness and compassion lead, what in the character of Yeshua is impossible?
When true kindness and compassion lead, people cross deep seeded generational, cultural, and socioeconomic divides to embrace one another despite their natural differences. Yesss…! Walls crumble!
When true kindness and compassion leads, egos shrink, and the inner part of innate humility replaces social pretension, indicating people eagerly put the needs of others above their own preferences.
When true kindness and compassion lead, a different type of patience emerges and endures.Mutual tolerance creates an environment where people gracefully make allowances for each other's faults and mistakes. What a world!
Does anyone have a desire for spiritual or loving accountability? What if true and surrendered believers love each other enough to speak hard truths, acting like "iron sharpening iron" to correct destructive habits. …and for the “Biblical Record,” "iron sharpening iron" is not this ooey-gooey misunderstanding we toss around. It is a one-on-one reconning of the Truth of GOD (in the situation) that brings out the precision and correction necessary. In that exchange, a strike/blow is imparted, and a mark/scar remains that will remind the recipient that someone cared enough to engage.”
We are all vulnerable in some parts of our lives. When those areas are exposed, the opportunity will present itself for that person to thrive in that insecurity. Safe environments allow individuals to confess their struggles and sins openly without fear of immediate condemnation. Who knew?! GOD did!
…tossing out complete divulsion here… I am absolutely clueless how to help all the folks I meet. I know how to listen. …and I am learning to do so without “having the answer” or “giving advice” quickly.
Oh…I am thinking about stuff though. You had better believe it.
GOD identifies with the vulnerable and expects us to step in and champion their cause.
"Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed" —Psalm 82:3-4
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute" –Proverbs 31:8-9
"Learn to do good; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow" –Isaiah 1:17
By actively sharing the grief, trauma, and financial burdens of life, no single person gets crushed (to demise) by crisis. Rather, the load stands to be lightened.
Run away, or turn the other way if you must, but true Biblical compassion avoids toxic over-caring. Doing so helps us all to guide ourselves clearly of manipulative control or codependency.
We ALL need to know how to set our OWN healthy boundaries, and likewise, not crossing the ones we see is in place for the other person.
Every person with skin needs consistent prayer and uplifting words. Yes, this includes those who say they don’t want or believe in the One Who fashioned them with His hands (beginning with Adam and Eve).
Take a moment to imagine how properly nurtured individuals can become physically and spiritually healed people. …and THOSE folks will eventually learn how to navigate deep discouragement.
Restoration awaits every soul!
As we look back at John 13:34-35, we can hear the reminder that has been around since (and before) Deuteronomy 6, and numerous Passages throughout the Scriptures. It is likely this was a slide of hand by the transliteration and translation writers. The term righteousness’ full meaning has “love” leading, supporting and completing the eternal intent of “I AM” –Loving one another.
The ultimate love of GOD, people and His Word is the definitive PROOF of obedience, which acts as a beacon to a world we have built with our own selfishness and callous attitudes and hands. “Love is NOT new.”
34 I am giving you a new Commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are My disciples (talmedim) IF you have love for one another.”
GOD wants us to help restore hope, support and love our needy and those misunderstood and disregarded.
Scripture outlines a clear mandate—GOD calls us to act as His Son did. We are commanded to defend the weak, serve the marginalized, and restore hope by genuinely seeing and elevating those in need.
The evidence of restoring hope can be seen through our practical support. Do you all not see that GODwants our faith to be visible through tangible acts of love and provision as well?
I offer this sweet piece of writing that reminds us that if we see someone in need but withhold [our] compassion, we are failing to walk in GOD's Love. We are called to love "not with words or speech but with actions and in Truth." –1 John 3:17-18
Isaiah 58:10 lists a promise that follows if you and I "spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness."
The Book of Galatians can be a bit alarming to many, but Galatians 6:2 is rather clear. It encourages people building, with us "carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the Law of Christ."
The TaNaKH teaches that humans become who they are through relationships. When someone receives covenantal type care shame loses its grip, dignity is restored and the feeling of belonging reawakens. In THIS…hope becomes possible again
This is possibly why (I was not there) Isaiah says, when justice flows, “ruins are rebuilt.” He’s not just talking about cities — he’s talking about people.
Do you recall when you were outside looking in, lost, wandering and overlooked? Yeah? No?
How does one learn to embrace the unrecognized and disregarded? Who are they? Well… They are misunderstood and forgotten people who often feel abandoned. These are the people GOD requires us to treat with extreme dignity. This is our profession, that is inside the job title of Obedience, Submission and Love for GOD and His Son, by the help of the Holy Spirit.
When restoring hope, it is important to remember that GOD is actively working alongside us to lift up the marginalized.
Psalm 35:10 – GOD is able to ”rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them."
Psalm 146:8 shares that "The LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD Loves the righteous."
When people practice this kind of care, it becomes magnetic. It pulls those who were excluded. It heals those who were wounded. It unites those who were divided.
This is probably why the prophets imagine nations streaming to Zion — not because of power, but because of the beauty of a community shaped by GOD’s character.
