Jesus, the Law of GOD, Laid the Road of Kindness, Pity and Mercy (grace)

Because of Jesus, everything that was impossible on your own becomes possible. Everything that was broken becomes redeemable, and everything that was empty becomes a vessel again.

“The absence of hope for love and joy was real… but because of ADONAI, the widows, the orphans, and the strangers were not alone.” The TANAKH (1st 39 Books of the Bible) never denies this.

The TANAKH doesn’t romanticize suffering. It doesn’t pretend people “should be fine.”

It says plainly: Without GOD, the vulnerable are defenseless indeed. The language of the Psalms, the Prophets all speak to this.

The Law of GOD revealed the struggle of and the presence of sin in their hearts, but it did not offer hope outside of the Day of Atonement.

GOD’s Law → John the Baptist → Yeshua (the Embodied of the Mercy of GOD). Is there something more? In Scripture, there is ALWAYS a deeper Truthbeneath the symbolisms, prophetic imagery, aphorisms and metaphors. Even in all of that, let’s not look past the idioms and contextual concepts hidden in plain sight.

Do you recall the importance of the Law of YAH? It was preeminent for those who were called out of Egypt. Was that an escape of faith? Yes!  Obedience and Trust were at the forefront of the whole shebang. The Law had not been given yet, but it was coming in a few days—at the mountain Moses was shown.

The Law of GOD didn’t just command righteousness—it created the expectation for a Righteous One. That was to happen in a few years. When the LORD GOD gave the Law, it was to show them the manner in which to love their neighbor and present themselves to the HOLY ONE.

Per Romans 7:1 “This same Law or do you not know, brethren (for I am speaking to those who know the Law), that the Law Father gave has jurisdiction over a person as long as he lives?”

NOTE: I will only use one reference, but I think it to be a helpful eyeopener, to those who want a clearer view of the details.

NOTE: The book of Romans shows the many types of laws that govern us now, are the same that governed then. GOD’s Law was the One (10) that He gave. This Law is Holy. This same Law was/is the Commands that provided revelation to the “person who cared” as to the sin that he/she was doing that displeased GOD.  Do the other laws do that? …not so much.

The Truth of the matter is… People want to make the “Law” evil, not for today and obsolete.

That would make sense for those folks who want to live life in a manner that is displeasing to the Father and His Son, because the absence of the Law of GOD in a person’s life details a person who walks in disobedience and has untethered intentions and motives.

The definition of the “Law” is always connected to these descriptions: The Word, Teaching, Directions, Guidance, Word of Truth and Instructions. Are these same descriptions used to describe Jesus and the Holy Spirit? Yep. Are they also evil? …not for today? …obsolete?

Yeshua was ALWAYS the Plan for the redemption, restoration and the hope that was needed for all of Israel. To be the light of the world (nations), the people of choice had to   act together, before we, the nations could get the invite. All of mankind was to experience this hope, in Jesus too. ...all of us

The Master started with (12) selected servants and others began to follow. Now look at the impact of the Law of GOD. It now has life and hope leading the way.

The infusion of the Law of GOD exposes the other laws that were teaching and governing our hearts (ask Paul). The Spirit of GOD now is doing that daily, with the Laws of GOD as the Foundation for living and loving obedience, John the Immerser as the paver and Yeshua as the embodiment of ALL the Laws GOD Commanded. I can hear Jesus saying, “This is how you do it.”

The Law of GOD was Good, but it did not cover all the bases. It got the obedient ones to let’s say… third base.  Yeshua (by our faith and obedience) will get us home. “Home plate” is a looong 90 feet without the Holy Spirit.  It is because of Jesus, getting “home” is a destination.

Because of Jesus, the relational space between GOD and humanity is closed, the veil tears, Israel’s and our banishment ends and the wandering stops.

Romans 5 & 11 do a really good breakdown of this. The Tribes of Israel are brought near, and we nations have been invited as well.

Because of Jesus, you and I are not defined by our past, our wounds, or our failures. You and I are defined by His righteousness (His obedience to His father, His love for His people—especially the Land, the orphans, the widows and the strangers). If we are not willing to walk in His Spirit and Covenant loyalty, we are not His.

This is what Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of GOD, Who loved me and gave Himself for me.”–Gal 3:20

Because of Jesus, you and I don’t just believe in a Covenant; we canbelong to one. You and I have been invited to carry His Spirit, His name (character) and His authority. You and I are not a spectator of redemption; we can choose to be participants in it.

Because of Jesus, our pain is never wasted. It becomes our testimony. It also becomes part of our transformation. Every trial we get to experience exists to draw us closer to Him.

“Where hope was absent, GOD gave us hope. Where love was missing, GOD gave Love. Where joy was silent, GOD sang over them. Because of ADONAI, the widow is seen, the orphan is held, the stranger is welcomed, and no one stands alone.”

THIS is the life artery of Covenant.

Because of Jesus, we can be empowered to love in ways that don’t make sense in the natural world. What would that be? We have been shown how to forgive, to restore, to rebuild, to bless, to carry His Peace into chaos.

The Bible never denies this. It doesn’t romanticize suffering. It doesn’t pretend people “should be fine.” It says plainly: Without GOD, the vulnerable are defenseless indeed. As I shared today at the nursing home, “I too am vulnerable in many ways.”

“The Law of GOD (Torah) revealed the struggle and the presence of sin in our hearts…” We can see where Paul says, “the Law of GOD made sin exceedingly sinful. Not because the Law (Torah) of GOD is harsh, but because it is honest. The Law of GOD exposes the wounds we’ve caused. It does not heal it though. The Law of GOD reveals the disease. It does not cure it.

The Law of GOD assigns the exile to be suffered, but it does not bring the people home. This is why GOD had Israel living year to year by the Biblical Feasts. The big one is the Day of Atonement. It was and still is a temporary covering. It was never meant to be a final cleansing. That was always meant to be the Savior named Jesus.

Yom Kippur was mercy, but it was also a reminder:

  • The blood of bulls and goats cannot remove sin. (That was to be Jesus’ job.)

  • The cycle will repeat every year (blood was always involved)

  • GOD temporarily set in place a mediator (High Priest) for the people. He too was dependent on GOD’s visitation and forgiveness—through blood.

The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippor) was always a shadow, not the substance that Yeshua gives. Consider it a rehearsal, not the performance of complete surrender and death. …ours and the Lamb of GOD.

Because of Jesus, we have Eternal Hope. NO plan B. This was ALWAYS “the” plan. Our King was the Eternal Intention, the “Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

Have you considered that looooong before Abraham, the mountain, the prophets and the exiles (returns) and the temples, there was already a Redeemer sitting with His Father. You can call Him by one of His many Epithets: My Son, the Word, My Son, the Teacher, My Son Who gives My Directions, My Son, your Guidance, the Word of Truth and Instructions – My Son.

Torah was never meant to save — it was meant to lead. GOD’s Law was given with intention and purpose to lead His people and eventually, the Nations to the Messiah.

…intention and purpose to lead them to the final High Priest.

…intention and purpose to lead them to the once‑for‑all Sacrifice.

…intention and purpose to lead to them to the restoration of the human heart.

Jesus was prepared to go to His Chosen Nation for the widow, the orphan, the stranger, the sinner, the wanderer, and the broken. I can keep going with this, I will need more help though.

In Bridges Study/Discussion environment, we discuss these people:

  • We are the dust‑made‑man who keeps falling.

  • We are the woman who feels unseen.

  • We are the man who feels unworthy.

  • We are the nations who sat in darkness.

  • We are the ones who had no hope and no covenant (this was the message’s topic today at the nursing home).

Yeshua steps into the story not as an alternative to Torah, but as its realized joy that had been MISSED. He is the living Torah, the embodied mercy we all need.

Because of Jesus, we have Eternal Hope. NO plan B. This was ALWAYS “the” plan.
