Imagine the IMPACT of the Unified Body of Christ
"Being" obediently ONE is what the Lord wants for His followers, the body (of Messiah).
What a struggle we as a community of "servants" have with obeying THIS!
"Individuality" and "selfish (ambitious) motives" are not part of the Fruit's Characteristics or Spirit's Gifts.
Considering that Jesus (Yeshua) IS the Head of the (His own) body, the EMPHASIS is for you and I to live THE life worthy of our "summons."
Colossians 1:18
Ephesians 1:22
Ephesians 4:15-16
Scripture details many occasions where Almighty GOD relays the expectations of His Character to be displayed in all of Israel.
Sooo... With "As One" being the theme of the body of Christ, how then shall we live?
Why is it so difficult for us to "lay down our arms" to obey ADONAI? How sad is it when the flesh rules us?
Fighting against the strong pull of "self" and "personal ambition" is not new to the body of Messiah, nor was it a walk in the park for the earlier servants of His: Joshua, the Prophets, Gideon, QUITE A FEW Kings and the close relatives of Moses, Aaron and Miriam.
To live “As One,” the body of Christ must become a people whose shared life is stronger than their individual impulses. Unity becomes our lifestyle when surrender becomes our reflex.
Unity is not achieved horizontally by trying to get along. Unity is achieved vertically by obeying the One we are joined to.
When each member listens to Messiah, each member moves together.
