Why GOD's Followers Need to be “Biblically Accurate”
Being right is not close to being the same as being accurate and correct. When it comes to our spirit and soul, we are not holy of ourselves, but GOD’s Word IS.
Employing and proclaiming It, we must be as precise and correct as possible. GOD’s Word is not a book like Dr. Seuss. It is more than a literary novel like the Grapes of Wrath and the Gone with the Wind screen play. It IS the Word of the Creator.
He, the spirit and the Savior were all in on creating the world we live in. Only man was formed by the hands of our Creator, otherwise, the Word was busy creating everything.
When we speak the Word of GOD properly, we can’t just use every single transliteration or translation and pretend, presume, assume and hope that it is accurate. Are we that trusting?
Do we trust His Son like that? Would we rather trust a man’s thoughts for it all? What if that man is one who believes the Bible is outdated, or, not for today? Have you seen and heard the news these days?
What are churches doing? People are spiritually orphaned, and the preacher is now a millionaire.
No wonder we don’t see as many Biblically relevant actions of the Spirit of GOD today. People don’t’ believe the ones sharing It. Those same people do not show their trust of the Words or Spirit that fashioned them with their hands.
What are we doing?!
Sure, even in our research, we will likely stumble into some error, but if we dig in, seek Him and search through, He will not only be found by us, our lives will also change because of the accuracy of the Scriptures we employ.
Using the Bible properly is a MUST! To use GOD’s Word properly, one should not only have conviction of the Word, he also must study the Word. That means, we faithful ones are to engage with It through diligent study, prayer, listening and meditation (repeating to ourselves what we’ve learned).
What else do we need to do to get accurate details and understanding from the Words of GOD? We put It to use by speaking and living it out loud! Why do we not act upon It with faith and obedience?
We must handle the Word and avoid misuse. How do we accomplish that? Follow the rules of interpretation and application. What good is the Bible to transformation without our obedience?
These principles are essential for believers to grow in godliness and avoid the pitfalls of false teaching and contentious debate – which for some reason, we like to get into them. …for what? We do not need to debate GOD’s Word, especially with another “follower.”
If we want GOD to uphold what we are saying, it must be what He has said previously, not some one-liner we’ve pulled out to build a sermon or our position on it to help us to make a point. We must be accurate.
Jesus, the Word, is not going to support what you and I say, He will only BE Himself! Truth.
Jeremiah 1:12 states that “GOD watches over His Word and ensures that it is fulfilled.” He ‘rushes’ to perform what He has spoken.
Followers of GOD are called to be Biblically accurate because Scripture is not just a spiritual guide—it's the foundation of truth, identity, and purpose in the life of a believer.
Here is something to chew on. GOD was manifested in the Messiah, Yeshua. He is described as “the Image of the invisible GOD” (Colossians 1:15), making the divine accessible and knowable.
Oh... It matters. Maybe we don’t understand that GOD is always Biblically accurate. That may seem funny or cute to some, but maybe we are not getting that understanding in the church or from the pulpits these days. Maybe.
If we are going to accept a Biblically Accurate GOD, we are going to have to learn about Him. As we learn the Truth about Him, we will begin to reject diluted or distorted views. Many of them have been shaped by culture or personal bias.
We will have to live in response to His truth, not just His comfort.
The fact of a Biblically Accurate GOD is vast, yet beautifully interconnected. To understand Him, we dive into His core attributes, Ways, culture, context and people. All of that are carefully revealed throughout Scripture”.
GOD’s Word Is the Standard of Truth
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness” --2 Timothy 3:16
This means that the teachings and prophecies within it are accurate and trustworthy. Jesus Himself endorsed the reliability of Scripture, stating that His Words would never pass away (Matthew 24:35), reinforcing the fact that GOD's promises and Teachings are precise and dependable.
Misinterpretation Leads to Misrepresentation
In 1 Timothy 1:8 it is written, “the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully”—meaning Scripture must be handled with care and reverence.
When followers distort or cherry-pick verses, they risk portraying a false image of GOD, which can (and will) mislead others and weaken their own spiritual foundation.
Spiritual Truth anchors faith in what GOD actually said (and what he meant when He said it).
Spiritual Integrity prevents spiritual drift and false teaching.
Spiritual Witness reflects GOD’s Nature correctly to the world.
Spiritual Growth will fuel genuine transformation and maturity.
If we need more Truth, look no further than GOD's accuracy in the natural world, where everything follows a precise order.
In our lives, correctness is vital for reflecting GOD's character. The Bible encourages believers to be truthful and precise in their words and actions, as seen in verses like Proverbs 12:22, which states that "the Lord delights in people who are trustworthy".
Living with integrity and honesty aligns us with GOD's will and fosters healthy relationships with others.
The Biblically Accurate GOD is always Truth, even more so, when we are not. Why is that? His Truth stands for Itself. It Always reveals the true nature and character of GOD as revealed in Scripture. All of this is accomplished without distortion, embellishment, or cultural reinterpretation.
It is WE who need to always be Biblically accurate.
