Kingdom of Priests with Tzit-Tzit Reminders to Live According to that Call

If we are searching for Truth, we must reach for it in relevance and as much accuracy as we can locate. UNDERSTANDING is ALWAYS NECESSARY! Bending words and interpretations to “FIT” the narrative of anti-Biblical figures is walking on the edge of heresy (deviation, dissent and profanation). Those who follow such are to be cast out of the Presence of the Holy One of Israel. If we are to follow in the steps of the Moreh (Teacher) of Israel, we must acknowledge that He is from Judah or Israel and he lived according to His Own Word, His Own culture and His Truth that derived from His Father, not the words of another.

As a matter of FACT, every profit, believer, priest and apostle who spoke of Him and wrote of Him honored the Torah and dis not come to make up their own doctrine. They spoke the Words of Yeshua, Who reminded (retaught) the people the Words they already knew, but failed to completely understand and follow.

Jesus, the High Priest of the high priests and priests of Israel reminded them of their role of honor to be that kingdom of priests HE set the apart to be.

If we are to become such, we too must learn to obey the Ways of the Father and Words of Yeshua, His Son and the Spirit His Father sent in His character (name) to assist those who would be faithful (them and us) to be, follow, go and share Them to the nations. If anyone is to desire to be changed and follow the same Command that Jesus gave, they must learn to hear and obey EVERY faithful servant of GOD has done since Noah. You can go further back, but Noah is a great example of what being faithful looks like. So is Abram. This is all BEFORE the written Word was given.

"Kingdom of Priests" and the Command in Numbers 15:37–41connects the charge with the "tzit-tzit." These are traditional fringes or tassels worn as reminders to live according to a specific spiritual or religious charge that was given by none other than the Holy One of Israel, the Creator of the world Himself!

In the ADONAI (Lord) of Israel, there is and will always be a relational tie‑in!

There is a dynamic and life altering connection between the tzit‑tziot and the priestly call of the entire Nation of Israel to live as priests to the world outside of the Land of Promise.

I will attempt, with the help of the Ruach and the Word, to weave them together.

  • The first thing to know is, this Commanded role is not about hierarchy, but vocation

  • Just as priests intervene between GOD and the people of Israel (12 tribes), Israel’s collective calling is to intercede between ADONAI and the nations.

The tzit‑tziot are like portable priestly garments. Just as priests wore distinctive clothing to signify their role, every Israelite wore fringes to embody their priestly calling. There are still many today who wear them.

These fringes are great reminders of covenant life that needs to be lived out loud. A priest’s role is to teach and model holiness. The tzit‑tziot makes this accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few. By wearing these tassels, every person carries a visible reminder of how to live, making the whole community a living priesthood.

The tzit‑tziot are not mere decoration; they are covenantal memory woven into daily life. They close the gap between sacred and ordinary, visibly reminding each person that their identity is priestly, their actions are sacramental. That word refers to something that conveys grace through a visible sign—like a baptism or communion). It’s not just symbolic, it participates in the reality it points to.

Consider marriage as an example. This relationship parallels how couples carry visible and invisible reminders of their vows (rings, rituals, anniversaries).  Just as tzit‑tziot remind Israel of GOD’s Commands, these symbols remind spouses of their covenant — making them “priests” to one another, mediating love, forgiveness, and holiness in daily life.

I pray that makes sense.

How Israel is empowered to live as priests to the Gentiles is a bit of a wonder.

When Israel had physical priests, they lived visibly different lives. Israel’s distinct practices — Sabbath, dietary laws, tzit‑tziot and festivals are not mere rituals but living signs that point the nations to GOD’s Holiness.

Why do the new believers think we are set apart from these same Commands that GOD gave. Jesus (GOD in the flesh) lived by Them. So did Paul, Peter, James and John and all the other disciples and prophets.

Even though “priests” are not in full function today, the Nation has been the blessing to the entire world, as GOD said they would be. In essence, they have been walking as fearless people for years, fighting for what they were promised. That means, they are living as “priests” to the world. I love it!

Priests instruct the people in GOD’s Ways. Israel’s role is to embody and teach covenant wisdom, showing the nations what justice, mercy, and faithfulness look like in daily life. I will say this; it has not been an easy task to follow-through with. It has not been simple for them at all, but they are resilient and feisty. I love it!

THOUGHT: Consider THIS NATION as a symbolic Tzit-Tzit bouncing around in the media and the world’s eyes, fighting to be as They were chosen to be!

Priests stand in the gap, offering sacrifices and prayers. Do you recall when GOD was searching for a man to “make up the hedge and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ezekiel 22:30)

Just as tzit‑tziot remind Israel of the Commandments, Israel’s collective memory—the Exodus, covenant, deliverance becomes a testimony to the nations that GOD is Faithful and liberating. Israel has and will always be the witness through remembrance.

THOUGHT: If the folks who declare themselves as “priests of their homes”, get a whiff of this spiritual task, they will either stand up or cower! THIS is MORE than MERE words!

Priests serve, not dominate. They serve at the pleasure of the One Who called and installed them! Israel’s priestly calling is to bless the nations (Genesis 12:3), to be a servant people whose distinct life draws others into covenant relationship.

It certainly drew me!

Think of tzit‑tziot as threads of covenant (all white cords and “One Single Blue Cord”). Each fringe is a strand of memory, woven into the garment of daily life. To be a “kingdom of priests” is to wear those threads not only on your clothing but in your relationships — visible signs that call you back to the way of covenant living.

In Exodus 19:6, Israel is called to be a mamlekhet kohanim, a kingdom of priests. As mediators, they were and still are, living reminders of GOD’s holiness. In visible ways, they are embodying covenantal life. The whole people, not just the Levites, are invited into priestly identity: to RE present GOD’s character to the nations.

The fringes on the garments are commanded as zikaron — reminders. They are tactile, visible symbols that call Israel back to covenant faithfulness: “that you may look upon them and remember all the Commandments of ADONAI and do Them.”

As grafted in servants of the Most High GOD (El Elyon), we are able to take on some of the blessings and actions afforded Israel. The people of Israel were called to be a "kingdom of priests"—meaning they were set apart to serve as spiritual leaders and examples to the world. This reminder, from the lips of Peter (1 Peter 1:1–2). Peter was speaking to scattered followers of Yeshua’s communities in Asia Minor. Though many Judeans were likely in the fray, he was primarily speaking with the gentile believers, reminding them that in the Messiah, they now share Israel’s priestly calling as a “royal priesthood” and “holy nation.”

  • They were to honor and obey GOD's Commandments, living according to the Torah and the teachings passed down through the prophets and apostles.

  • Their lives were meant to reflect holiness, spiritual accountability, and a commitment to GOD's Ways, serving as a visible and practical example for other nations.

  • The use of tzit-tziot (fringes or tassels) was a daily, physical reminder for each individual to uphold these responsibilities and values, integrating spiritual mindfulness into everyday actions.

  • By living according to these principles, the people of Israel would fulfill their role as a "kingdom of priests," representing GOD to the gentile nations and inviting others to learn from their example.

The specific Commandment for Israel to be the "kingdom of priests" for GOD is found in the Torah, where GOD calls the people of Israel to a unique spiritual role:

In Exodus 19:5–6, GOD said to the Israelites: “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My Covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”

This is the foundational Commandment and calling for Israel to serve as a "kingdom of priests"—a people set apart to represent GOD to the nations, living by His Commandments and serving as spiritual leaders and examples.

If you are a true believer and follower of ADONAI, you must know and understand that Commandments (His Word) are always connected to any calling that GOD levies.

  • The Israelites (and Christians) were to honor and obey GOD’s Commandments, living according to the Torah and the teachings passed down through the prophets and apostles. Their lives were meant to reflect holiness, spiritual accountability, and a commitment to GOD’s Ways.

  • The use of tzit-tziot (fringes or tassels) was commanded as a daily, physical reminder for each individual to uphold these responsibilities and values, integrating spiritual mindfulness into everyday actions (Numbers 15:37–41 & Deuteronomy 22:12).

REMINDER: Tzit-Tzit are not just ritual objects, they are practical tools for helping individuals remember and embody the ideals of a "Kingdom of Priests" in their daily actions and choices. They are a visible identity that visibly sets apart those who wear them, marking them as members of a people group dedicated to living by a sacred charge and serving as examples to others.

…taking it a step further, in marriage terms, Israel’s priestly role is like a couple living their vows in such a way that others see love, trust, and covenant embodied. The nations “learn” what covenant looks like by watching Israel’s devotion to ADONAI.

Israel lives as priests to the gentiles by embodying covenantal memory, teaching wisdom, interceding in prayer, and serving as a living sign of GOD’s holiness and blessing.

NOTE: We need to be reminded of whose we are and who we are. Sometimes we forget our identity. It is not only safe, but fair to say, Isarael has often forgotten Whose they are, but I will say this, many of them KNOW who they are.

We belong to ADONAI, not to ourselves. Covenant begins with GOD’s proclamation: “I will be your GOD, and you will be My people.” (Exodus 6:7) — GOD promises Israel deliverance: “I will take you to be My people, and I will be your GOD.”

In Leviticus 26:12 He said, “I will walk among you and be your GOD, and you shall be My people.”

This is priestly identity. As grafted in by faith (children/seed) of Abraham, our lives are not private possessions but of and for sacred service.
