(Israel’s Language) The Words of Truth

I am going to put this out there, but I am not attempting to start anything. I am attempting to relay some information that would seem viable to help change our focus back to the Word of GOD a bit more frequently.

Time is up for the persistent use of hear & say and theology, if you understand what I mean.

The term theology is the attempt to explain the Almighty One (in many ways), but it is not a Word that the Scriptures would have ever used.

To know and understand the Son of GOD, His Father and their Ways, we need the Guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures. We require the Word of GOD!

If we consider how many doctrines & denominations (religious structures) we have, it is no wonder many people are put off by the Bible, congregational gatherings and church alike.

There is a lot of messiness, unpleasantness and chaos going on in the “name of GOD”! Will you, the reader, at least acknowledge the amount of confusion stemming from many pulpits these days?  Today, we are not referencing the full history of it, just the past 20 years or so.

We only need One Word of Truth, which would be GOD’s Word.

Have you considered what the communication efforts and methods were being used in Babylon to get the people in unison to reach the heavens (GOD)? It eventually led them to begin building the tower of Babel (Gen 11)? It was so bad, the “Us” of the Father opted to confuse (mix-up) the one language because they were going about getting to Him together, but not in the way He desired (would please Him).

Maybe, the act of making more languages was to negate human pride and disobedience. Doing our own thing, in our own way would often turn into a form of rebellion. Does this seem vaguely familiar?

I agree, that seems like an odd way to deal with that, but it makes sense, especially since the people eventually migrated across the globe according to the language they spoke and understood.

In the eventual words by the prophet Zephaniah in 3:9 – “…for then I will restore to the peoples a pure language (to be spoken by His people), that they all may call on the name of the Lord.

He, the Creator, wants us all to come to Him, but in a manner that pleases Him. There were many languages created from that separation.

It is easy for one to believe that the tongue of Israel is the Word of GOD Itself, for It is the language of Truth (Bible). I am not ignorant, many do not consider that, but give it a shot.

Imagine what type of workplace, home, religious gatherings we would have if people spoke words of life, pure words, encouragement, hope and support to one another. Also, imagine if the words we speak are not self-defeating, negative towards a situation or filled with condemnation. Do you suppose a “pure language” would foster those words and phrases that built up another and praised and glorified the Holy One and His Son?

NOTE: SOMEONE…EVERYONE needs to be edified by the words spoken!

This Bible is filled with such things. When those things are not being spoken (achieved), the Father of creation and Israel is displeased. Correct?

Every word we speak is heard. Who hears them? The enemy of your soul via his imps, other humans, and your Creator GOD.

Your words, my words, our words matter.  Why?  They offer healing, optimism and promise for a better day ahead, and they settle a person down. We can call that restoration and reconciliation. They facilitate faith, through audible hope.

How many times have you and I talked our SELF out of faith or confidence?!

GOD’s Word DOES NOT do that! It is a pure set of Words, Laws, Instructions and Guidances that tell us how to not only speak, but also, love, care, support, fight, serve and worship and Whom to worship.

GOD’s Word is a pure language. Why do we discount the Word (Hebrew) when searching for what GOD’s intended meaning, reason for usage, to whom, the intention and purpose-filled context and run straightway to languages that were not to be spoken in the land of Canaan?

Until the overthrow (because of sin, rebellion, etc.,) Hebrew was the only language spoken in the land of the (12) tribes.

The language of Canaan (Israel) was very significant, when Hebrew became the language of choice. …GOD’s choice.   Did you know that the Bible refers to Hebrew as “the language of Canaan, Judah and the people of Israel? There is not English or Greek there. The language of hope and restoration derives from the tongue of the Nation of Israel.  All of the numerous references are transliterations, not translations.

  • These verses indicate that Hebrew was the language spoken by the people of Israel and in the land of Canaan2 Kings 18:26 & Isaiah 36:11

NOTE: Hebrew’s linguistic distinctions served as a spiritual boundary, helping the Israelites maintain their culture and Laws even when surrounded by other nations.

NOTE: Unlike abstract languages, Hebrew is rooted in action. Every word is connected to activity, reflecting GOD’s Standard that Truth must be lived out, not just thought about.

Did You Know:  Hebrew words are built on three-letter roots, creating connections between seemingly different concepts and revealing deeper spiritual truths? It is GOOD STUFF!

The language of a follower of Yeshua (Jesus) should be pure and true. He expects them to be. Our language (Scriptures), especially the people who speak Hebrew natively, is meant to be truth-filled and genuine. Believers are expected to speak honestly, avoid unwholesome talk, and use words to build others (and yourself) up and impart kindness, mercy and grace. Wholesome speech is seen as evidence of a heart transformed by GOD.

I remind you, “the concept of Hebrew as a “pure language” comes directly from Zephaniah 3:9. It is a prophecy GOD shared with this prophet, so he could share it with the people of that time, and the eventual readers – you and me.

The significance of GOD giving the Israelites a specific language—Hebrew—lies in its role (and theirs) as a "holy separator." While that tongue shared language roots with the mostly ousted Canaanites and other neighboring Semitic nations, it was uniquely adapted to define a people who were to be "set apart".

As a holy language, this dialect serves now and it served then as a "consecrated separator." It distinguished the Israelites from the surrounding nations. This is but ONE way a true follower of the GOD of the Israel chose to separate them from all the nations that surrounded them.

Sure, Hebrew has shared roots with the Canaanite dialects, but GOD apparently wanted specific changes that made it unique serving as a spiritual and cultural boundary to prevent assimilation and preserve the distinct identity and religious laws of Israel.

Does this not sound like US? “…be IN, but NOT of”?

The Hebrew language was not just a practical means of communication but was intentionally chosen and shaped by GOD for the Israelites as they entered and lived in Canaan, the Land of Promise.

Here are some cool points I found that give indication of why the LORD GOD would/could want their language to be "similar yet different". Communication is always going to be key, but the Words used are JUST as, if NOT MORE significant.

1. By maintaining their own language even when surrounded by Egypt, Iran, Syria or Babylon, the Israelites preserved their culture, precepts, Law/Guidance and Standards from being swallowed by pagan traditions.

2. I learned a new phrase, in my search: Lashon HaKodesh (the “holy tongue”) is believed to be the language GOD used to create the world, it is thought to carry "Divine DNA"—the fundamental building blocks of spiritual reality. I have not found this in Scripture, but it is in the traditions of Israel.

NOTE: Hebrew is concrete and not abstract. The Greek language is abstract, and you guessed it, not concrete.

Scriptural Truth stresses that pure talk is the outward evidence of a heart transformed by the LORD. Language is intended to be a tool for righteousness, reflecting the character of the Messiah.

If you serve Jesus, and not just say you do, there is an expectation for godly speech to be effortlessly rolling off your tongue and past your teeth and lips.

NOTE: GOD’s Biblical Standards for communication focus on His Truth, kindness and edification of one another.

NOTE: Believers are instructed to "put away falsehood" and speak Truth to one another. GOD detests lying but delights in those who are trustworthy.

NOTE: Integrity of communication should be free from "unwholesome talk," filthiness, or coarse jesting, which are considered unfitting for GOD's people.

To Yadah is to know the Savior, His Father and the Spirit Who was sent to Israel and the world. Let’s pursue the truth of the Giver of the Scriptures. There will always be naysayers and unbelievers. However, if a person wants to experience GOD and the Wonders of His Love and Freedom, he/she MUST seek Him as His is and as He wants to be known. In doing so, he/she must leave the tower building to the architects, masons and carpenters.

NOTE: "Yadah" is a Hebrew verb that means "to know" or "to acknowledge." The word "yadah" is used to describe deep, intimate knowledge—often referring to knowing GOD, understanding His Ways, or having a close bond with Him.
